Keanu Reeves on marriage rumors with Alexandra Grant

The Matrix actor Keanu Reeves has clarified the situation following rumors that he and his longtime girlfriend Alexandra Grant had secretly gotten married in a small, private ceremony, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

"It’s not true," Keanu’s publicist told E! News in a statement on September 22. "They are not married."

Although they haven’t exchanged wedding vows, their relationship remains strong, as shown by Alexandra’s Instagram post earlier this month celebrating Keanu’s 61st birthday. Alongside a heart-shaped cake with his name on it, she wrote:

“For Keanu—who saw this post as a draft!—I’m so grateful for your love and partnership.”

While the 52-year-old visual artist and the John Wick actor—who began dating in 2018—have kept their relationship private, they’ve shared glimpses of their love story over the years. In fact, earlier this year, Keanu revealed they enjoy adventuring together:

“We’ve taken a few motorcycle trips together,” he told E! News in February, “and we really enjoyed them.”

He has also been open about how the COVID-19 pandemic brought them even closer.

“It’s been truly wonderful to be with Alexandra,” he told Parade in August 2020. “We love spending time together, whatever that may be. Once the beaches reopened, we took a motorcycle trip and started a few projects together.”

For her part, Alexandra, who made her red carpet debut with Keanu in 2019, has openly expressed admiration for her partner:

“He’s a big inspiration for me,” she told People in September 2023. “He’s incredibly creative and kind. He works hard.”

She also appreciates that their romance happened later in life:

“The good thing about falling in love as an adult is that I had already built my career before the relationship started,” Alexandra added. “I feel very secure on the red carpet—and even when I’m alone.”
