175 Years of Ivan Vazov

A solemn celebration marking the 175th birth anniversary of Ivan Vazov, the patriarch of Bulgarian literature, will be held on July 9 in front of his monument near Saint Sophia Church in Sofia, the National Literary Museum announced Friday, CE Report quotes BTA

The event will honor Vazov’s lifelong dedication to Bulgaria and its people. Winners of the National Children's and Youth Recitation Contest of Vazov’s poetry will be awarded during the ceremony.

Additionally, a renewed permanent exhibition on Vazov’s life and work will open at his house museum in Sofia, supported by the Ministry of Culture.
