Bulgaria Hosts First Open Science Conference

Sofia University will host Bulgaria’s first national conference with international participation on open science this Tuesday. Organized under the ORBIT project, the event—Scientist's Guide: In the Orbit of Open Science in Bulgaria—will explore open science's role in the age of artificial intelligence, CE Report quotes BTA

Keynote speaker Dr. Marta Teperek from the Dutch Research Council will present the Netherlands' Open Science NL initiative, offering insights into effective data sharing, transparency, and AI-driven research.

The program includes Bulgarian researchers applying open science in areas like disinformation, numismatics, education, and finance. Projects from ORBIT's PhD mentoring program will also be showcased.

Sofia University noted that with contributions from universities, libraries, and NGOs, ORBIT aims to be a major platform for research innovation and public engagement in Bulgaria.
