Tivat, with the opening of the Adria Future Summit 2026 at Porto Montenegro, has become a meeting point for regional and international leaders, investors, institutional representatives, and decision-makers who will discuss energy, investments, innovation, and the sustainable future of the region.

The summit has once again confirmed Montenegro’s position as a reliable partner and a relevant venue for dialogue on key economic and development issues of the modern era, CE Report informs via the Montenegrin government website.

As part of the first day of the event, the Minister of Energy and Mining, Mr. Admir Šahmanović, participated in the panel “The Renewable Energy Economy: Unlocking Investment, Scale and Speed,” where he spoke about Montenegro’s ambitious energy plans, with a particular focus on the development of renewable energy sources, infrastructure modernization, and attracting credible investments.

Alongside Minister Šahmanović, the panel also featured Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, Daniel Calderon, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Alcazar Energy, Stéphanie Capdeville, Board Member of the Green for Growth Fund (GGF), and Grzegorz Zieliński, representative of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

Minister Šahmanović stressed that Montenegro is today pursuing a responsible and clearly defined energy policy focused on decarbonization, strengthening energy security, and full alignment with European standards.

“Montenegro has recognized the moment of change and decisively embarked on the path of energy transition. Our goal is not only to follow European trends, but to be an active part of the solution when it comes to green energy, regional connectivity, and new investment cycles. The time for planning is behind us — the time for implementation has begun,” said Minister Šahmanović.

He emphasized that the country is already creating the prerequisites to become an energy hub of the region and a reliable partner of the European Union, through legislative reforms, improving the investment climate, and developing strategic energy projects.

During the first day of the summit, Minister Šahmanović was also awarded by the founder of the summit and CEO Biljana Brightwhite, in recognition of his contribution to the development of regional dialogue, improvement of energy policy, and strengthening Montenegro’s investment potential.

The first day of the summit was marked by numerous bilateral meetings, business discussions, and encounters between government representatives, financial institutions, and leading companies, confirming the role of the Adria Future Summit as a platform where ideas are turned into concrete partnerships and projects.

The Adria Future Summit 2026 continues tomorrow with a series of meetings, ministerial sessions, investment panels, and discussions dedicated to the future of energy, infrastructure, and sustainable development in the region.
