
Greek Trade Gap Widens in June
Greek exports dropped by €358.7 million or 8.3% in June 2025, reaching €3.94 billion, compared to €4.30 billion in June 2024, according to the Panhellenic Exporters Association, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonia
However, excluding oil products, exports rose by 3.7% to €3.07 billion, supported by growth in food (10.2%), industrial goods (4.3%), chemicals (4.1%), and tobacco (12.5%). Major losses were recorded in fuels (-29%), machinery (-15.3%), and raw materials (-8.3%).
Imports increased by 6.4% to €7.08 billion, widening the trade deficit by 33.2% to €3.14 billion. Excluding oil products, the deficit grew more moderately, by 20.5%.
In the first half of 2025, the overall trade deficit slightly narrowed to €16.54 billion. Yet, without oil, the deficit rose 3.6% to nearly €14 billion.
