Albania-Kosovo trade volume hits new high

Business

At the common border point of Morin, we see an increasing presence of vehicles transporting goods from Albania to Kosovo, but also Kosovo to Albania.

In recent years, there has been progress in terms of trade volume between the two countries, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Many drivers make this journey every day. Some do it once a week, but some even twice a day.

For drivers, the commercial volume goes unnoticed, as they have turned it into everyday life.

In many cases, customs procedures are completed quickly, but in quite a few cases, especially during weekends, drivers spend hours at the border, while long columns of vehicles enter the depths of our territory.

Most worrying for them remains the scanning process and the scales.

At the Morin border crossing, the customs procedure is carried out only for goods of Albanian origin or of distribution companies, while for imports and exports with other countries, Kosovo carries out the procedure at its customs in the port of Durres, which has been operating for two years.

Despite all this, according to information received from the Customs Directorate, year after year there is a significant increase in trade exchanges between Albania and Kosovo, with exports from Albania to Kosovo accounting for the largest amount in trade volume.
