The average price of wheat flour has doubled over the past 10 years in Kosovo. This essential food product continues to increase in price year after year in the country. The price of one kilogram of wheat flour reached €0.81 in December 2024, a rise of €0.42 per kilogram compared to 2014, when the price was only €0.39.

According to data published by the Kosovo Agency of Statistics, the average price of wheat flour rose from €0.39 to €0.81 per kilogram between 2014 and 2024, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Meanwhile, the average price of bread, a key flour-based product, was €0.51 in 2024, according to ASK.

In addition to wheat flour, price increases have also been recorded for other consumer goods during December 2024. According to the Agency, the overall Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices increased by an average of 1.1% in December 2024 compared to December 2023. Meanwhile, the monthly inflation rate for December 2024 stood at 0.7%. The average annual inflation rate for 2024 was 1.6%.

In 2024, significant price increases were recorded for coffee, tea, and cocoa (14.4%), oils and fats (9.3%), financial services (9.1%), mineral water, non-alcoholic beverages, fruit and vegetable juices (5.9%), and bread and cereals (2.6%).
