Ukraine and Denmark Sign Historic Defense Tech Agreement

Ukraine and Denmark have signed an agreement enabling Ukrainian defense industry manufacturers to export their technologies abroad.

Minister of Strategic Industries of Ukraine Herman Smetanin announced this on Telegram, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

"Today in Copenhagen, together with Denmark's Industry Minister Morten Bodskov, we signed a historic agreement. It paves the way for establishing Ukrainian defense production facilities on Danish soil," the post reads.

Smetanin emphasized that Denmark would be the first country to which Ukraine exports its defense technologies for production, scaling, and delivery to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The minister noted that this is a unique case of international cooperation for Ukraine's defense industry, and he expressed deep gratitude to Ukraine's partners.

"Denmark is a true friend of Ukraine's defense sector and a steadfast ally in the fight against the aggressor. For its part, Ukraine will make every effort to strengthen the defense capabilities of Denmark and its partners," Smetanin said.

In late June, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen agreed to develop joint weapons production. This year, Denmark will allocate EUR 1.26 billion to support the manufacturing of long-range drones in Ukraine.
