China Imposes Tariffs on EU Brandy Imports

Business

China has announced that it will impose anti-dumping duties ranging from 27.7% to 34.9% on brandy imports from the European Union, effective July 5, for a period of five years, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The announcement was made by the Ministry of Commerce, which stated that this is the final decision in its anti-dumping investigation. The ministry concluded that brandy imported from the EU constitutes dumping, that it poses a significant threat of damage to the domestic industry, and that there is a causal link between the dumping and that threat.

This move is expected to further escalate trade tensions between Beijing and the European Union.
