Budget Surplus Exceeds Targets for January-November 2024

The state budget recorded a primary surplus of €12.011 billion in the first 11 months of 2024, surpassing the target of €9.912 billion and significantly higher than the €5.826 billion surplus for the same period in 2023, CE Report quotes Athens-Macedonian

Net state budget revenues for January-November 2024 reached €66.721 billion, exceeding targets by €303 million (0.46%). This increase was largely driven by the collection of an extraordinary levy of €206 million on electricity suppliers in October 2024, which had not been included in the original budget projections.

Total state budget revenues amounted to €73.297 billion, up €179 million (0.2%) compared to the target set in the introductory report of the 2025 budget.
