Aston Martin plans layoffs amid weak China demand, tariffs impact
Luxury car manufacturer Aston Martin will lay off up to 600 employees, or one-fifth of its total workforce, after the company deepened its annual loss due to weak demand in China and the impact of U.S. tariffs.
Last year, its loss increased by 52 percent year-on-year to £493.2 million (€565.5 million), CE Report quotes STA.
In its Full-Year Results Statement 2025, the company said the restructuring program could affect up to one-fifth of its roughly 3,000 employees and is expected to generate annual savings of about £40 million ($54 million), with related one-off costs of around £15 million.
The planned reductions are significantly deeper than a previous restructuring effort announced a year earlier, when the automaker targeted about 5 percent of its workforce.
