Breeze 2025 Drills Begin

The High-Level Visitors Day of the Breeze 2025 naval exercise kicked off Friday in Varna with Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov in attendance, joined by Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov, Foreign Minister Georg Georgiev, and Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov, CE Report quotes BTA

Held from July 7–20, the 29th edition of the exercise features over 1,500 service members and includes participants from 14 countries, including the US, UK, France, and Türkiye. A total of 18 naval vessels, four aircraft, and two helicopters are involved, alongside representatives from four ministries and 28 organizations. The European Maritime Safety Agency is also participating.

Live demonstrations from the Bulgarian Navy frigate Verni will include joint maritime operations such as drone and air threat response, firefighting at sea, sea mine neutralization, and protecting merchant vessels. The Naval Tactical Group for Special Operations will be NATO-certified during the exercise.
