
Lyudmila Petkova Appointed Head of Public Financial Inspection Agency
Former Deputy Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova has been appointed as the new Director of the Public Financial Inspection Agency (PFIA), according to the agency's website. The appointment was made by the Minister of Finance, CE Report quotes BTA
Petkova previously served as caretaker deputy prime minister and finance minister before becoming deputy finance minister in January under Rosen Zhelyazkov’s cabinet. She was removed from office by the Prime Minister on February 4.
She replaces Georgi Yordanov, whom she had appointed as PFIA Director in April 2024.
The PFIA, established in 2006, operates under the Ministry of Finance and conducts financial inspections to ensure compliance with budgetary and accounting regulations.
