UPDATED Bulgaria Marks Aviation and Air Force Day

Bulgaria is marking Aviation and Air Force Day with a traditional wreath-laying ritual at the Monument to the Pilot in Sofia on Wednesday. The day commemorates the first reconnaissance flight in combat conditions in Bulgarian and European history, which took place on October 16,1912, during the First Balkan War (1912-1913), CE Report quotes BTA

Attending the ceremony were President Rumen Radev, Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov, the Air Force Commander, Major General Dimitar Petrov, servicepersons and members of the public. Wreaths and flowers were laid on behalf of the President, the National Assembly Chair, the Defence Minister, the Chief of Defence, the Sofia Mayor, the Commander of the Joint Forces Command, the Air Force Command, the Commander of the Land Forces and members of the public.
