Croatia hosts Dalmatian Prosciutto and Wine festival

The 8th edition of the Days of Dalmatian Prosciutto and Wine festival kicked off in the town of Vrgorac, located in the Dalmatian hinterland (Croatia).

This unique gastronomic event is being held at two charming locations: the area around the Town Park, featuring an Austro-Hungarian-style promenade, and the space near the Town Fountain, CE Report quotes HINA.

The festival showcases producers of prosciutto and wine from Dalmatia, Slavonia, and Istria, as well as from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy. Winemakers from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are also participating.

On the opening evening, various Croatian prosciutto styles were presented, including Dalmatian, Drniš, and Istrian varieties. According to Željka Opačak, Director of the Vrgorac Tourist Board, the event will feature the prestigious Italian Parma prosciutto from the country’s largest producer on Saturday evening.
