Okan Buruk makes history once again at Galatasaray

Okan Buruk has made history once again at Galatasaray, becoming the club's longest-serving head coach in a single uninterrupted spell.

Having reached 1,481 days in charge of the Turkish champions, Buruk surpassed the previous record of 1,480 days held by legendary coach Fatih Terim, whose most recent stint lasted from December 22, 2017, to January 10, 2022.

Buruk was appointed Galatasaray head coach on June 23, 2022, and has led the club through one of the most successful periods in its recent history.

Four consecutive league titles

By winning the 2025–26 Turkish Süper Lig title, Buruk became only the second coach in Galatasaray history to win four consecutive league championships, matching Fatih Terim's achievement between 1996 and 2000.

He now has the opportunity to become the first coach to win five straight league titles if Galatasaray triumphs again in the 2026–27 season.

During his tenure, Buruk has guided Galatasaray to six major trophies:

Led Galatasaray to a record 17 consecutive league victories during the 2023–24 season.
Oversaw a record 17 consecutive away league wins, achieved between the 2023–24 and 2024–25 seasons.
