European Judo Cup highlights strong performances
Judoka Mihail Latîșev won the European Cup in Riga after recording four victories in the 90 kg weight category. The athlete defeated Tajus Babaicenko (Lithuania), Danilo Articolo (Italy), Dominik Druzeta (Croatia), and John Jayne (USA) in succession, securing first place on the podium, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES.
In other categories, Radu Izvoreanu (66 kg) lost in the final to Germany’s Florian Boecker, and Vlad Mitru (73 kg) was defeated in the final by Sweden’s Narek Vardanian. Also in the 73 kg category, Renat Croitoru won the bronze medal, rounding out a strong performance from the delegation.
The European Judo Cup in Riga is an official international competition on the European Judo Union calendar, where judokas from multiple countries compete in various weight categories.
