Netflix has officially confirmed the organization of a professional boxing match between two legends of the sport, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. The bout will take place on September 19 at Sphere, one of the world’s most iconic arenas.

This fight marks the highly anticipated rematch of their 2015 encounter, which Mayweather won by unanimous decision. This time, 48-year-old “Money” Mayweather will return to the ring to test his undefeated 50-0 record, following a nine-year hiatus from professional boxing, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Earlier this year, Mayweather announced his gradual return to the ring, beginning with an exhibition match against Mike Tyson, before officially facing Pacquiao. His last professional appearance was in 2017 against Conor McGregor.

On the other side, Pacquiao returned to the ring in 2025 after a four-year absence, facing Mario Barrios for the welterweight world title. The match ended in a draw, but the Filipino’s performance was widely praised. Before facing Mayweather, Pacquiao is also set to take part in an exhibition bout against Russian boxer and politician Ruslan Provodnikov.

The September 19 showdown is expected to be one of the most-watched sporting events of the year, combining nostalgia from their historic rivalry with global interest in two iconic figures of professional boxing.
