Neymar, who is aiming to be called up to the squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, returned to Santos, the club where he began his football career, in January 2025.

The 33-year-old has not played for the Brazil national team since 2023 due to a series of injuries, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency.

After playing for Spain’s Barcelona and France’s Paris Saint-Germain, the star footballer transferred to Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal in August 2023.

Having signed for Al Hilal for an astronomical transfer fee and salary, Neymar was sidelined for a year after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament and meniscus injury while on national team duty in October 2023.

As reported by CE Report, earlier this year, after returning to Santos, Neymar was injured in his left leg during the first half of a Brazilian Serie A match against Atletico Mineiro in April. He pointed to the bench and left the pitch in tears in the 34th minute.
