CSU Sibiu advances to second round of Romanian cup

BC CSU Sibiu qualified for the second round of the Romanian Cup in men’s basketball after defeating CSM Galați 103-83 (24-20, 32-13, 27-21, 20-29) on Thursday evening at home in the second leg of the first round.

Sibiu also won the first leg 79-77 last month, CE Report quotes AGERPRES.

The Transylvanians, coached on the sidelines by interim coach Dan Fleșeriu after the resignation of Dutch coach Geert Hammink, won convincingly, led by Devarius Tavon King with 27 points and 3 assists. Keith Martin Stone stood out with 18 points and 6 rebounds, while Michael Anthony Randolph Jr added 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 8 assists.

Marcus Lanell Randolph Jr was the top scorer for Galați with 25 points.

In the second round, CSU Sibiu will face CSM Târgu Mureș.
