Trump eyes visa ban for Brazil ahead of 2026 World Cup

Sports

American President Donald Trump is considering the possibility of banning visas for Brazilian citizens ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will be held in the USA, Mexico, and Canada, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

According to CNN reports, restrictions have already begun to be partially implemented and are expected to tighten, putting the presence of Brazilian fans at the tournament into question.

This move is believed to aim at influencing public opinion in Brazil against the current government.

FIFA and the Brazilian Football Federation have not yet officially responded, but it is reported that they are aware of the situation and are considering the possibility of meetings with U.S. authorities to avoid excluding fans.

Recall that the USA has already banned travel for some countries, including Iran, which qualified for the World Cup, but its fans will not be allowed to enter the country.
