Shumen Hosts Major Rapid and Blitz Chess Tournament

The Shumen Open International Rapid and Blitz Chess Tournament will be held July 25–27 at Arena Shumen, featuring over 150 participants, including many of Bulgaria’s top players. Grandmaster Kiril Georgiev leads the field as the highest-rated competitor, CE Report quotes BTA

The rapid games will run across all three days, while the blitz tournament is scheduled for July 26. Around 20 titled players are set to compete. The total prize pool is BGN 10,000, with BGN 1,500 awarded to the winner of the rapid section and BGN 400 to the blitz champion.
