
North Macedonia’s girls beat Lithuania in 3x3 basketball opener
The North Macedonian women's 3x3 basketball team started their group-stage matches with a 14:11 victory over Lithuania, CE Report quotes MIA.
With patient and disciplined play, the North Macedonian girls gained a 4–5 point lead and secured an important win. Later this evening, North Macedonia will face Germany, who defeated Slovenia in the first round. The match is scheduled to begin after midnight.
North Macedonian teams continued to fight hard on the second day of the competition, but once again failed to secure a win.
The women’s handball team recorded a second loss, this time against Switzerland (33:20) in the second round of the group stage. The men’s team also suffered a defeat, losing to Spain 31:26.
On the basketball courts, the girls lost heavily to Finland (76:35), while the men's team was unable to assert themselves against France. In volleyball, both the men’s and women’s teams were defeated without winning a set, each playing against Slovenia.
Wednesday brings a new wave of sporting excitement at EYOF Skopje 2025. Young Olympic hopefuls will continue to compete in 13 sports across various venues in Skopje and Kumanovo.
At the “Todor Proeski” arena, finals will be held in the men’s high jump, 5 km fast running, mixed 4x400-meter relay, and javelin throw. Exciting judo finals are expected at the “Jane Sandanski” sports hall: girls up to 48 and 52 kg, and boys up to 60 and 66 kg.
In Kumanovo, mountain biking competitions will take place in both categories, and matches will continue in other sports including swimming qualifiers, gymnastics, table tennis, badminton, and shooting.
Taekwondo competitions are set to begin tomorrow.
