Newcastle Reluctant to Sell as Liverpool Prepare Isak Offer

Sports

Liverpool are preparing a hefty 120 million euros bid for Swedish striker Alexander Isak, but this step will only be taken if Newcastle United open the door to a sale, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

The club's decision was confirmed on Tuesday: Liverpool will not make a bid without a clear signal from Newcastle, who have maintained a firm stance throughout the summer that Isak is not for sale.

On the other hand, the player himself has not closed the door on a move to Liverpool. Isak is open to the idea of a move to Anfield, but has left everything in the hands of his current club.

If Newcastle United do not give permission for his departure, then Liverpool are expected to turn their attention to Hugo Ekitike, the talented striker currently at Eintracht Frankfurt. Talks with the German club could intensify if the Isak deal is finally closed.

Liverpool see Isak as an ideal reinforcement for the offensive phase, but the situation remains delicate and closely linked to Newcastle's willingness to negotiate.
