Chelsea Cruise Into Next Club World Cup Round

Chelsea qualified for the round of 1 of the Club World Cup (CWC) after defeating Esperance de Tunis 8-3 at Lincoln Financial Field, recording their fifth win in their last six matches without conceding a goal.

On a scorching day in Philadelphia, Enzo Maresca's team - without Cole Palmer and Pedro Neto - struggled early, but broke the deadlock with Tosin Adarabioyo's header late in the first half, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.

Liam Delap doubled the lead with a personal touch, scoring his first goal for Chelsea, before Tyrique George sealed the victory with a long-range strike. Esperance failed to pose a serious threat and were eliminated from the tournament after another disappointing performance.

Chelsea will face Benfica in the next round.
