Romanian tennis player Anca Todoni advanced to the quarterfinals of the WTA 125 tournament in Bari after a hard-fought 7-5, 7-6 (7/4) win over Czech Dominika Salkova. The 20-year-old, ranked 88th in the world, needed just over two hours to seal the victory, CE Report quotes Agerpres

With the win, Todoni earned €3,478 and 27 WTA points. She will face Belarusian Irina Simanovich (WTA 164) in the next round.

Fellow Romanian Ana Bogdan is also in contention and will face Poland’s Maja Chwalinska in the round of 16.
