Key matchups include European champions Real Madrid facing Saudi Arabia's Al Hilal, while Manchester City will play Juventus, and River Plate will take on Inter Milan. The opening match between Inter Miami and Egypt's Al Ahly will kick off on June 15 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

The expanded format features teams from six continents: 12 from Europe, six from South America, four each from Asia, Africa, and North America, one from Oceania, and one host nation representative. Real Madrid, the most successful team in the competition's history, has claimed five titles.
