Parties Seek Gov’t Role – Dan

Romania

President Nicușor Dan announced Thursday that all major political parties involved in ongoing talks—the Social Democratic Party (PSD), National Liberal Party (PNL), Save Romania Union (USR), and the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania (UDMR)—are seeking to join the government, CE Report quotes Agerpres

“I am very pleased that all the parties engaged in discussions want to be part of the government,” Dan said after attending the National Forum for the Future of Agriculture.

He noted that the current draft on budget deficit measures is a working document and not final. “You will start hearing leaks from this technical document... Nothing you hear from leaks is final,” he emphasized, stating the document will be politically negotiated with party leaders.

Discussions are expected to conclude Monday, including other programme chapters, with a full review scheduled for Monday afternoon. When asked if PSD demanded the prime minister post, Dan described such matters as “technical discussions.”
