
Romanian Air Force C-27J Completes Humanitarian Mission for Burn Victims
A Romanian Air Force C-27J Spartan aircraft, equipped for medical missions, flew from Otopeni on Tuesday to transport four burn patients from Skopje, North Macedonia, to a hospital in Brussels, Belgium. The mission, coordinated under the European Civil Protection Mechanism (ECPM), was carried out with a medical team from Romania and Belgium, CE Report quotes Agerpres
The operation followed a tragic fire in North Macedonia’s Kocani nightclub on Sunday, which resulted in 59 deaths and over 155 injuries. North Macedonia activated the EU’s civil protection mechanism to aid 15 patients with severe burns, with Romania and eight other European countries quickly responding.
The C-27J aircraft returned to Romania on Wednesday after successfully completing the mission.
