Romanian Foreign Ministry Denies U.S. Interference in Elections

The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) stated on Wednesday that there were no discussions or interventions regarding any candidate or the electoral process in Romania during bilateral interactions with U.S. officials, CE Report quotes Agerpres

In response to public statements from some U.S. representatives at the Munich Security Conference and on social media, the ministry emphasized that these were general expressions and did not involve direct discussions on Romania’s elections.

MAE reaffirmed Romania’s commitment to democracy and freedom of expression, highlighting the importance of a strong EU, NATO, and transatlantic partnership. It also stressed the need to strengthen democratic institutions, fundamental freedoms, and election integrity.
