Intensive activities by military police units are underway at Serbian Armed Forces training grounds and in areas outside their peacetime locations as part of the final phase of the joint tactical exercise with live-fire drills “Pobednik 2026.”

The exercise involves military police units from all branches of the Serbian Armed Forces, with the aim of testing and further improving their capabilities to prepare for and conduct combat and non-combat activities as part of a counter-sabotage operation.

The tasks are being carried out using modern weapons and military equipment with which the units have been equipped in recent years, CE Report informs via the Ministry of Defence of Serbia's official website.

According to the exercise scenario, following an alert, the military police forces conducted a march to their designated area of operations, where they are now carrying out tactical drills and live-fire exercises. By completing complex tactical tasks, the units are improving procedures for controlling territory, blocking and searching terrain, as well as surrounding and destroying sabotage groups. They are also practising the use of active and passive measures against remotely piloted aircraft, medical evacuation, crime-scene investigations and counter-sabotage inspections.

The units conducting tasks at the Međa training ground were visited today by the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović. He observed a tactical exercise with live-fire drills during which military police squads demonstrated their training in searching terrain and facilities, establishing a close blockade line and neutralising an inserted sabotage-terrorist group.

Speaking with soldiers and commanders, General Mojsilović congratulated them on their shooting results, excellent tactical performance and proficiency in using newly introduced weapons and military equipment. He stressed that investment in the capabilities of military police units would continue to ensure their readiness to respond to modern security threats.

The joint tactical exercise with live-fire drills “Pobednik 2026” began in late August and will run until October 4. Activities carried out so far have demonstrated a high level of training, preparedness and professionalism among Serbian Armed Forces personnel, as well as their ability to effectively use new and modernised equipment and systems.
