Ninth Ukraine Action Summit begins in Washington

The ninth Ukraine Action Summit has begun in Washington, bringing together activists and supporters of Ukraine from across the United States to discuss continued support for Kyiv and meet with members of Congress.

Hundreds of delegates from various states are taking part in the event, which runs through September 16. Participants include veterans, representatives of civic, religious and charitable organizations, as well as family members of American volunteers who were killed while defending Ukraine, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

From September 14 to 16, participants will hold meetings with members of Congress. Key issues on the agenda include strengthening sanctions against Russia, securing the return of Ukrainian children who were abducted, expanding defense cooperation and supporting Ukraine’s security needs.

The Ukraine Action Summit is organized by the American Coalition for Ukraine, a nonpartisan alliance of more than 50 U.S. nonprofit organizations.

The summit is held twice a year and brings supporters of Ukraine from across the United States to Washington for briefings, training sessions and direct advocacy with U.S. lawmakers.

The previous summit was held in Washington in April this year, attracting more than 700 delegates.
