Fake GOP convention website redirects visitors to Epstein documents

A fake website, “gopdallas2026.com,” which presented itself as being connected to the Republican National Committee’s (RNC) midterm convention, scheduled to take place in Dallas from tomorrow through Thursday, redirects visitors to the U.S. Department of Justice webpage dedicated to documents related to the Epstein case.

The online stunt appears to be an initiative by a mysterious source seeking to remind Republicans, or anyone searching for information about the convention, of the existence of documents related to the convicted sex offender and financier Jeffrey Epstein, who died by suicide in prison, CE Report quotes ANSA.

The New York Times and other news outlets reported that the website was fake, despite having published seemingly credible information about the convention for several weeks.

While noting that the convention’s official website is “gopconvention.com,” the Republican National Committee accused Democrats of orchestrating the initiative, although it remains unclear who is actually behind it.

According to The New York Times, the founder of a Democratic-linked creative agency associated with the website reportedly claimed responsibility for the stunt last week.

“Democrats are too broke to organize their own midterm convention, so they settled for a pathetic fake website,” said Zach Parkinson, communications director for the GOP committee.

The convention aims to mobilize voters and encourage them to vote for Republican candidates across all races on the ballot in November’s midterm elections. The event will feature speeches by President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance and numerous other prominent Republican figures, candidates and party personalities on a range of issues, beginning with the Trump administration’s economic policy achievements.
