NATO Sarajevo Commander visits Bosnia and Herzegovina

NATO Headquarters Sarajevo Commander Brigadier General James C. Fowler and his delegation paid an inaugural visit to the City of Ljubuški, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

They were received at the City Administration building by Mayor Vedran Markotić and City Council President Tihomir Kvesić, CE Report quotes FENA.

The meeting was also attended by Major General Zdravko Rezo, Commander of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Support Command.

Mayor Markotić congratulated Brigadier General Fowler on his recent appointment to the position and briefed him on the City Administration’s activities to date and its key priorities.

Fowler praised, among other things, the demographic measures implemented by the City of Ljubuški, describing them as an example for the rest of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The participants then visited the Park of Croatian Banates, where they paid tribute and lit candles at the monument to Petar Herceg Tonić, an American World War II hero who sacrificed his own life to save around 100 crew members during the Japanese attack on the fleet at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, according to the City of Ljubuški.
