Prince Harry faces multi-million legal bill
Prince Harry faces the prospect of paying millions in legal costs after losing a lawsuit against the publisher of the Daily Mail.
The possibility of Prince Harry, the younger son of King Charles III and the late Princess Diana, being ordered to pay millions in legal costs has become more concrete following his defeat—along with six other high-profile claimants—in a lawsuit against the publisher of the Daily Mail.
The claimants had accused the right-wing British tabloid of violating their privacy over many years through alleged phone hacking and other unlawful information-gathering methods, CE Report quotes ANSA.
The legal action concluded in recent weeks with a ruling by the High Court in London, which cleared the Daily Mail's publisher due to insufficient evidence. As a result, the unsuccessful parties are required to cover the legal costs.
Lawyers for the tabloid's publisher, Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL), had already indicated after the conclusion of the trial that legal costs could amount to tens of millions of pounds.
