Donald Trump praises Nicki Minaj at White House for Black History Month
American President Donald Trump praised rapper Nicki Minaj during a reception at the White House for Black History Month, openly expressing his admiration for her to those present.
Trump asked the audience if they liked the artist and added that he himself holds her in high regard, mentioning their meeting a few weeks earlier. He commented on the singer’s appearance, calling her very beautiful and especially highlighting her looks, CE Report quotes Kosova Press.
According to him, Minaj is not only beautiful and successful, but also someone who “understands things.”
Trump’s comments come a few days after the rapper posted on social media an artificial intelligence–generated image showing her next to the president in a convertible car, counting money.
The post sparked mixed reactions from the public, with some criticizing it as inappropriate and others interpreting it as support for the president, OraNews reports.
Their relationship has been discussed in the media before. Minaj has publicly stated that she is a supporter of Trump and said that criticism of him reminds her of personal experiences with attacks and accusations she claims to have faced over the years.
At the end of last year, the artist appeared as a surprise guest at an event organized by Turning Point USA in Phoenix, where she delivered a speech and praised Trump and Vice President J. D. Vance as role models.
