Albania ratifies invitation to join Trump’s Board of Peace
Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama announced on the podcast “FLASIM – Episode 3, Season 6” that the invitation extended by U.S. President Donald Trump to join him on the Board of Peace has created a political stir in Albania.
“This week began with an invitation that, one could say, caused a stir in Albania—an invitation beyond official protocols, carrying significant political, and in my view, historical importance for the country. United States President Donald Trump sent me this invitation to join him on the Board of Peace, a new international body established by him, and to recognize Albania as a founding member of this board,” Rama said.
The Prime Minister described the invitation as a welcome one, CE Report quotes ATA. However, he noted:
“While I did not doubt that there would be noise and attempts to create a stir, I did not anticipate that fantasies and malice would converge to generate certain theories and narratives. One would have to be remarkably careless—not to mention precise at times, yet unsuitable for this podcast—to reach the points that were ultimately reached.”
Nonetheless, Rama added:
“The invitation was welcomed, accepted, and ratified in the form of a draft agreement and bill in the Albanian Parliament. Albania, as a state that has chosen peace as its enduring compass and has consistently contributed to important international forums, accepted it firmly—even with the votes of those who, up until the moment they voted, left nothing unsaid. But that is an entirely separate matter, concerning membership on this board.”
