Belgium has announced its readiness to take part in international efforts to ensure peace in Ukraine once hostilities come to an end.

Prime Minister Bart De Wever stated this on X, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.

"Today's meeting of the Coalition of the Willing in Paris was productive and decisive. Together with a broad coalition of partners, Belgium will take on its share of international efforts towards safeguarding peace in Ukraine, once hostilities have ended," he wrote.

According to him, Belgium's contribution "will focus in particular on providing air and maritime capabilities as well as efforts in the area of training."

De Wever stressed that these efforts "will be underpinned by a firm American backstop as well as American-led monitoring, ensuring effective deterrence and making long-term stability achievable."

"A united West can deliver results that shape history and secure peace," he added.

As reported by CE Report, following a meeting in Paris, the leaders of the Coalition of the Willing, Ukraine, and the United States signed a joint declaration entitled "Robust Security Guarantees for a Solid and Lasting Peace in Ukraine."
