One more country recognises Kosovo
The Bahamas has formally recognised Kosovo as an independent state, becoming the 121st country to do so.
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani said the two sides signed an agreement on mutual recognition and the establishment of diplomatic relations, CE Report quotes ATA.
“Another historic decision for our country,” Osmani wrote on social media.
She said the Bahamas has become the 121st country to recognise Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state, adding that the agreement was signed in the Bahamian capital.

Joint Declaration of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and the Republic of Kosovo on Recognition and Establishment of Diplomatic Relations
The Commonwealth of the Bahamas and the Republic of Kosovo announce that the Commonwealth of the Bahamas has recognized the Republic of Kosovo as an independent and sovereign state.
Both States also announce the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Commonwealth of the Bahamas and the Republic of Kosovo, effective from the date of signing the Joint Agreement on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations, in accordance with international law and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of 1961.
Both States reaffirm their commitment to the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, including respect for sovereignty, equality of States and the peaceful settlement of disputes. They agree to develop their relationship on the basis of mutual respect, reciprocity and constructive engagement.
The Bahamas and Kosovo express their intention to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including political consultations, trade and investment, tourism, education and culture, technology and innovation, public sector cooperation, as well as people-to-people exchanges, in accordance with the laws and procedures of each respective country.
The Commonwealth of the Bahamas and the Republic of Kosovo look forward to building a warm and productive partnership that serves the interests of both peoples and contributes to international peace and cooperation.
