Slovenian police track suspect in fatal Croatia shooting
Slovenian police have joined the manhunt for a 40-year-old man suspected of killing his pregnant wife and seriously wounding her sister in Croatia on Thursday evening.
Police have warned that the suspect could be dangerous, as he is believed to be armed, CE Report quotes STA.
The search in Slovenia is underway in the area of Črenšovci and several neighbouring municipalities, the Murska Sobota Police Department said.
The shooting took place in Mursko Središće, a town very close to the Slovenian border, in a family house in the area with a predominantly Roma population.
Both women were taken to hospital in Čakovec, but the suspect's wife, the mother of three children, later died. The suspect's car was found in Slovenia, according to media reports.
The suspect is still on the run with the Slovenian police appealing to the public this afternoon for help, describing the suspect as thin, 175 to 180cm tall, dressed in a black jacket, grey trousers and light-grey shoes.
According to Croatian Interior Minister Davor Božinović, the suspect had previous run-ins with the police for some 35 criminal offences.
