Trump sees path to ending war in Ukraine
The U.S. President expressed optimism about achieving a peace agreement on Ukraine, while noting that issues related to the corruption scandal are “not helpful.”
Donald Trump said this to reporters aboard Air Force One while returning from Florida to Washington, CE Report quotes Ukrinform.
“I think there’s a good chance we can make a deal,” the U.S. President said when asked to comment on the ongoing negotiations on peace in Ukraine.
He emphasized that he wants to put an end to the killing of thousands of people in Ukraine every month.
The U.S. President also confirmed that he spoke with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff after their meeting with the Ukrainian delegation in Florida.
Summarizing briefly, he said:
“They’re doing well.”
The American leader also reiterated that he currently has no deadlines for concluding the negotiations.
At the same time, Trump noted that Ukraine faces “some difficult problems.” When asked to clarify what exactly he meant, he pointed to the corruption situation. According to the U.S. President, this is “not helpful.”
As reported by Ukrinform, negotiations between the Ukrainian and U.S. delegations on ending the war in Ukraine took place in Florida on Sunday. Both sides described the dialogue as productive and successful.
