CEC Urges Responsible Monitoring

CEC Urges Responsible Monitoring

Politics

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of Moldova has called on all organizations involved in monitoring the upcoming parliamentary elections on September 28 to act with "maximum responsibility" in drafting reports and publicly sharing observations, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Acknowledging the role of civil society in ensuring electoral transparency, the CEC emphasized that monitoring findings must be based on direct, documented observations and follow international standards. The appeal follows the release of an analysis that, according to the Commission, includes misleading or factually incorrect interpretations.

"Opinions expressed in public should not be mistaken for the results of a rigorous and objective monitoring process," the CEC stated, warning that such confusion can erode public trust in the electoral process.

The Commission reiterated its readiness to cooperate with all monitoring organizations and provide the necessary support, while urging caution and accuracy in public communication.
