Grosu Reflects on Parliament's Term

Politics

Moldova’s Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu delivered a farewell speech marking the end of the current legislature’s four-year term, highlighting the body’s achievements amid a period he described as “full of challenges.”

Reflecting on the mandate that began after the 2021 snap elections, Grosu emphasized the government's success in preserving peace, navigating crises, and bringing Moldova closer to the European Union. “Despite destabilization attempts, we maintained stability. That is our most valuable achievement,” he stated, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES

Grosu credited both officials and citizens for advancing Moldova’s European integration, noting the public's strong support for enshrining the EU path in the Constitution through a referendum. He also praised steps toward energy independence and recognized social policies aimed at supporting families, pensioners, and public servants.

Addressing young people, Grosu encouraged them to remain connected to Moldova, wherever life takes them, and called on all citizens to prepare for the upcoming parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28, 2025.

“Eighty days remain,” he concluded. “Let us come together – from north to south, from young to old – to help Moldova find its rightful place in the European family.”

The current parliament, elected on July 11, 2021, officially concludes its term on July 11, 2025, but will continue functioning until the new legislature is sworn in.
