US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that a ceasefire agreement with Hamas could be reached within the week, potentially securing the release of several remaining hostages, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

“We’ve gotten a lot of the hostages out… we think we’ll have that done this week,” Trump told reporters in Morristown, New Jersey.

His statement came ahead of Monday’s meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House, where regional issues including Gaza and a possible long-term deal with Iran will be discussed.

Netanyahu, on his third US visit in six months, will also meet senior US officials and members of Congress from both parties.
