
Ireland, Moldova to Deepen Ties
Irish authorities are ready to start procedures for drafting a social security agreement with Moldova and expanding bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest. This was announced during a farewell meeting between Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi and Ireland’s Ambassador to Moldova, Brendan Ward, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
According to Moldova’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both sides welcomed progress in their bilateral dialogue and expressed openness to new initiatives, including negotiations on mutual recognition of driving licenses and enhanced collaboration in social protection.
Minister Popșoi praised Ireland’s growing engagement with Moldova, particularly the decision to open an embassy in Chișinău. He noted that the embassy’s official launch will further strengthen diplomatic and institutional ties.
The Moldovan official also expressed gratitude to Ambassador Ward for his efforts in supporting Moldova’s European integration agenda and fostering a more dynamic bilateral relationship.
