
EU Parliament VP Visits Moldova to Back Democracy
European Parliament Vice President Nicolae Ștefănuță is visiting Chisinau as the EU’s key representative supporting democracy in Moldova, according to the EU Delegation to Moldova, CE Report quotes MOLDPRES
During his visit, Ștefănuță will meet with President Maia Sandu and Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu to discuss democratic reforms and Moldova’s cooperation with European institutions.
At a press conference, he will reaffirm the European Parliament's support for Moldova’s democratic development, with a focus on combating disinformation, resisting foreign interference, and ensuring fair parliamentary elections.
Ștefănuță will also highlight the EU’s role in strengthening Moldova’s institutions through technical assistance, electoral support, and inter-parliamentary cooperation.
The visit underscores the EU’s commitment to helping Moldova uphold the rule of law, secure its sovereignty, and advance on its European path.
