Erdogan Warns of New War

Politics

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone call with Omani Sultan Haitham bin Tariq on Sunday to discuss the growing conflict between Israel and Iran, as well as broader regional and global issues, CE Report quotes Anadolu Agency

According to the Turkish Communications Directorate, Erdogan warned that Israel’s attacks on Iran could spark wider clashes, posing a serious threat to regional security. “The region cannot tolerate a new war,” he said.

Erdogan also criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government, calling it a “problem for global stability.”

He voiced concern over the timing of the attacks, which occurred just before the sixth round of nuclear negotiations, stressing that diplomacy remains the only path to resolving the nuclear issue.

Erdogan further emphasized the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, urging that the latest developments must not distract from what he described as “the genocide being carried out by Israel.”
