Israel-Iran Strikes Raise Fears of Global Conflict

Politics

Israel launched a large-scale airstrike on Iran early Friday, hitting nuclear and military sites and killing top commanders and scientists. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the mission aimed to cripple Iran’s atomic weapons program, CE Report quotes PAP

In retaliation, Iran fired waves of drones and missiles at Israel overnight, killing at least four people, injuring over 70, and damaging infrastructure.

European Council President Donald Tusk warned on Saturday that the confrontation risks turning into a full-scale regional war, adding, "Since WWII, we haven’t been so close to a global conflict." He urged Europe and the US to act swiftly to prevent further escalation.
