By 5:30 PM on Sunday, 9.6 million voters—53.39% of those registered—had cast ballots in the second round of the presidential elections, according to the Permanent Electoral Authority. This surpasses the first-round turnout of 9.57 million (53.21%) on May 4, CE Report quotes Agerpres

In the diaspora, voter participation also hit a new high, reaching 1.42 million compared to 940,000 in the first round.

The largest voter group was aged 45–64 (39.26%), followed by those over 65 (22.44%), 35–44 (18.52%), 25–34 (12.36%), and 18–24 (7.43%).
