Croatian-North Macedonian Leaders Highlight Partnership and Cooperation

Croatian President Zoran Milanović arrived for an official visit to North Macedonia on Wednesday, welcomed at the International Airport Skopje by Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski, CE Report quotes MIA.

"President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanović, is paying an official visit to our country, with high-level meetings on the agenda. Bilateral ties and the opportunities for their further enhancement in the focus. The visit reaffirms the traditionally friendly and partnership relations, with no open bilateral or multilateral issues," FM Mucunski wrote in a Facebook post.

President Milanović was welcomed with the highest state and military honors by host Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, with a joint press conference scheduled after their meeting.

Talks tackled bilateral ties, the European integration process through the prism of international order, EU developments and regional challenges.

Interlocutors expressed satisfaction from the constructive cooperation in many areas, confirming their friendship based on mutual understanding, respect and support. Guided by the current state of play on the European continent and beyond, interlocutors referred to the importance of the aligned regional approach in managing regional challenges, the President's Office said in a press release.

In addition, Siljanovska Davkova thanked Milanović for Croatia's continued support to the Macedonian EU membership and readiness for enhancement of cooperation in various fields of mutual interest.
